Educational Needs Of Families In Turkey
This research is a descriptive study where a research model called enriched or com-
plex design, which quantitative and qualitative research methods are used together, was
used. A survey made up of 76 questions was used as quantitative data collection in-
strument. Three different in depth interview form and focus group interview were used
as qualitative data collection instruments for families, individuals in preparation of
marriage, experts.
METHOD
Sample of the research was determined by TÜİK. 7000 house addresses and 700
houses as substitute constituting 10% of it were determined from address-based
population registration system data base of TÜİK throughout Turkey as the research
sample by means of multiphase stratified, systematic, cluster sampling. In depth inter-
views were made with 120 people from 12 regions (Adana, Ankara, Bursa, Erzurum,
Gaziantep, Istanbul, Izmir, Konya, Malatya, Samsun, Tekirdağ, Trabzon) (10 people
from each city) in order to collect qualitative data of the research. In addition, focus
group interviews were made with participation of 10-12 people from each city.
