Educational Needs Of Families In Turkey<br />

Marital status. According to Chi-square analysis results, the group considering<br />

topics relating to the media except for the topic of capability to cope with the addiction<br />

of TV are extended families and broken families. The most eager group for taking part<br />

in training to be gi<strong>ve</strong>n in the topics relating to the media is made up of participants<br />

from extended families while the most reluctant group is made up of participants coming<br />

from families consisting of students / workers.<br />

Family life period. Considering family life periods of the participants, it is seen that<br />

individuals considering themsel<strong>ve</strong>s most incompetent in the matters relating to the<br />

media compared to the other participants are childless middle-aged or old, married<br />

participants. The group considering themsel<strong>ve</strong>s most competent is made up of<br />

participants in the period of marriage with a small child. Most eager participants for<br />

taking part in the trainings to be organized in the topics relating to the media are newly<br />

married individuals and married individuals with a small child while the most reluctant<br />

group is made up of childless middle-aged or old, married participants.<br />

Number of the children. Looking at participants’ le<strong>ve</strong>ls of considering themsel<strong>ve</strong>s<br />

competent in the topics of media, it is seen that participants having 4 or more children
