Educational Needs Of Families In Turkey<br />

having participated in training about family life beforehand. This finding re<strong>ve</strong>als that<br />

individuals having participated in an educational activity relating to family in any way<br />

are more eager for taking part in the training.<br />

Allocation unit. Considering allocation units, it is seen that those having the highest<br />

le<strong>ve</strong>ls for participating in a training to be gi<strong>ve</strong>n in the matters of education are the<br />

families living in villages while the most reluctant ones are the families living in me-<br />

tropolises.<br />

Settlement (Countryside, city). Considering feature of settlement such as being coun-<br />

tryside or a city, eagerness for taking part in training to be gi<strong>ve</strong>n in all sub-dimensions<br />

constituting dimension of education differs significantly. As in the other topics, those<br />

living in countryside are more eager for taking part in the training compared to those<br />

living in cities, also in this topic.<br />

Region. Considering regions, where families li<strong>ve</strong>, individuals’ le<strong>ve</strong>ls of finding<br />

themsel<strong>ve</strong>s competent are higher in the regions, (TR1 Istanbul and TR2 Western<br />

Marmara) where welfare and educational le<strong>ve</strong>l is higher compared to the other regions.<br />

Howe<strong>ve</strong>r, individuals’ le<strong>ve</strong>ls of finding themsel<strong>ve</strong>s competent are lower in TR7 Central<br />

Anatolian, TRC South-eastern Anatolian regions compared to the other regions. The<br />

fact that eagerness for taking part in the training to be gi<strong>ve</strong>n both in the regions, where<br />

le<strong>ve</strong>ls of finding oneself competent are high and in the regions that le<strong>ve</strong>ls of finding<br />

oneself competent are low, is high and it is significant in the sense that it shows the<br />

need for family education in e<strong>ve</strong>ry region of the country.<br />
