The thing families do most frequently in the matter of their children’s education is
providing their children with supportive courses. In addition, families encourage their
children to participate in supportive activities such as social and sportive activities,
reading books. Meanwhile, families employ private teachers for their children and limit
hours of watching television. However, it was seen that families not having good economic
conditions cannot provide their children with private teaching institutions,
private teacher, courses and activities with health, social and cultural contents.
It is mentioned that an educational program to be developed for families must cover
topics such as marriage, choosing of spouse, establishing healthy communication between
spouses, respect, love, pregnancy and child care, giving individual support to
education of the children, ensuring unity of family, family members’ acquiring needs
and habits such as reading a book, health and nutrition, which will make contribution
to cultural development of themselves and other family members, basic human and
social values, factors influencing mental health of the children and ways of coping with
them and healthy nutrition.
Analysing the opinions of participants about broken families, it was determined that
participants mostly put emphasis on economic factors and miscommunication between
spouses as reasons for break of the families. It is also emphasized that unconsciousness
