18-25 and 26-33 are more eager for taking part in the trainings in the matters of the
family health.
Income level. It is seen that competence levels of individuals having different levels
of income in the matters of the family health differ. It is seen that participants having
higher levels of income have higher perceptions of competence, but they are more re-
luctant for taking part in the trainings.
Educational Background. With regard to the health matters, it is seen that partici-
pants’ levels of considering themselves competent and their levels of eagerness for tak-
ing part in the trainings increase as their educational levels increase.
Marital status. Divorced participants consider themselves more competent
compared to the individuals in other marital statuses. Engaged participants had higher
levels of eagerness for receiving training in the matters of prenatal (pregnancy period)
mother’s health, infant care, hygiene (cleanliness) of the house environment, sexual
health and health problems according to the life periods (such as prostate among men
and menopause among women in the advancing ages) and protection from cancer and
heart diseases compared to the individuals in other marital statuses. Single individuals
had higher levels of eagerness for receiving training in the matter of contagious
diseases.
Duration of the marriage. Competence perceptions of participants in the matter of
the family health differ significantly according to the duration of the marriage. It is
seen that competence perceptions of participants, whose durations of marriage are 1-5
years and 6-10 years are significantly higher compared to the other groups. The group
having highest level of eagerness for taking part in the trainings in the matters relating
to the family health is made up of individuals, who have been married for less than one
year and individuals, who have been married for 1-5 years.
Family type. Competence perceptions and eagerness levels of the participants for
taking part in the trainings differ significantly according to the family type. Individuals
living in the nucleus families and the individuals living in the extended families consider
themselves more competent compared to the individuals living in the other family
types. These family types are also the ones most eager for taking part in the trainings.
