Educational Needs Of Families In Turkey<br />

be said that families with just one child and families with four or more children are in<br />

an educational need for family education.<br />

Existence or non-existence of a disabled family member or a chronic patient in family.<br />

Voluntariness le<strong>ve</strong>ls of the families in whose houses there are constantly ill or disabled<br />

individuals or family members constantly in need of nursing are higher. It can be said<br />

that families are in educational needs in the matter of the disabled people and individu-<br />

als in need of nursing.<br />

Family type. Considering family type, it is seen that those most eager for taking part<br />

in a training to be gi<strong>ve</strong>n in the matter of control of undesirable behaviours of the chil-<br />

dren come from extended families while those most reluctant in this matter come from<br />

broken families and one person families.<br />

Family life period. Those most eager for taking part in a training to be gi<strong>ve</strong>n in the<br />

matters of child de<strong>ve</strong>lopment, helping child in choice of profession, religious values<br />

and religious education, sexual education, protection from natural disasters such as<br />

earthquake, flood, fire and security, relations with disabled people and individuals in<br />

need of nursing, child’s using the time out of the school efficiently (use of the leisure<br />

times, hobbies), supporting studies of the child at home, responsibilities of the spouses<br />

about child care, spending a qualified time together in the family, control of undesirable<br />

behaviours of the children are the families with small children while those most<br />

reluctant in this matter are childless middle aged or old families.<br />

Number of the children. Considering variable of the number of the children in the<br />

family, those having the highest le<strong>ve</strong>ls of eagerness for taking part in training to be<br />

gi<strong>ve</strong>n in terms of their opinions regarding eagerness for education in the matter of the<br />

control of undesirable behaviours of the children are the families with four or more<br />

children. Those most eager for taking part in a training to be gi<strong>ve</strong>n in the matters of<br />

helping child in choice of profession, child de<strong>ve</strong>lopment, spending a qualified time<br />

together in the family, distribution of the tasks and sharing the house works in the<br />

family are the families with 1 child and 4 four children.<br />

State of having participated in any training, seminar or course in any matter relating to<br />

family beforehand. The highest eagerness for taking part in training to be gi<strong>ve</strong>n in the<br />

matter of the control of undesirable behaviours of the children appears in the group
