17 You will prophesy these words against them; you will say, `The Lord will
deliberate from on high; from his holy place he will give his voice. He will deliberate a
word regarding his place; they will answer like those who gather grapes. Over those
who are sitting on the earth, 18 an elimination is arriving over part of the earth. For there
is a judgment for the Lord among the nations; he himself is being judged by all flesh,
and the ungodly were given to the sword,´ says the Lord."
19 So said the Lord: "Behold, wicked things are coming from nation to nation, and a
great hurricane is going out from the end of the earth. 20 Those wounded by the Lord
will be on the day of the Lord from one part of the earth to another part of the earth.
They will not be buried; they will be like dung on the surface of the earth. 21 Howl, you
shepherds, and cry out; mourn, you rams of the sheep, for your days were fulfilled for
slaughter, and you will fall like the choice rams. 22 Fleeing will perish from the shepherds
and salvation from the rams of the sheep. 23 There is a sound of the outcry of the
shepherds, and there is a howling of the sheep and the rams, for the Lord eliminated
their pastures. 24 The remaining places of peace will cease due to the presence of the
wrath of my fury. 25 He abandoned his lair like a lion, for their land become an
inaccessible place due to the presence of the great sword."
Jeremiah 33 A
1 In the beginning of the reign of King Jehoiakim son of Josiah, this word was from
the Lord: 2 "The Lord said this: `Stand in the courtyard of the Lord's house. To all the
Judeans and to all who come to worship in the house of the Lord, you will disclose all
the words which I directed you to disclose to them; do not hold back a word. 3 Perhaps
they will listen, and each of them will turn from his evil way, and I will cease from the
wicked things which I am planning to do to them because of their evil habits. 4 You will
say: "The Lord said this: `If you do not hear me, so as to walk in my regulations which
I gave in your presence, 5 and to listen to the words of my servants the prophets whom
I am sending forth to you early in the morning (I sent them forth, yet you did not listen
to me), 6 then I will give this house to be like Shiloh, and I will give this city as a curse
to all the nations of all the earth.´"´" 7 The priests, the false prophets, and all the
people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the Lord. 8 It happened
that, when Jeremiah finished speaking everything which the Lord directed him to speak
to all the people, the priests, the false prophets, and all the people took hold of him,
saying, "You will die! 9 For you prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying, `This house
will be like Shiloh, and this city will be desolated, with no inhabitants.´" All the people
assembled against Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.
10 The rulers of Judah heard these words, and they went up from the house of the
king to the house of the Lord and sat in the threshold of the New Gate of the Lord. B
11 The priests and the false prophets said to the rulers and to all the people, "A verdict
of death for this man, because he prophesied against this city, as you heard with your
ears." 12 Jeremiah said to the rulers and for all the people, "The Lord sent me forth to
