Daniel 12
1 In that season Michael, the great ruler who stands over the sons of your people,
will arise. It will be a season of oppression, an oppression of a sort which has not
happened since a nation came into being on the earth until that season. In that season
your people, everyone who was found written in the book, will be saved. 2 Many of
those who sleep in the soil of the earth will awaken, some to eternal life and others to
reproach and eternal shame. 3 Those who are intelligent will shine like the brightness of
the firmament, and the many righteous will shine like the stars forever and ever. 4 O
Daniel, conclude the words and seal the scroll until the season of the consummation,
until many are taught and knowledge increases."
5 I, Daniel, looked, and behold, there were two others standing, one on one bank of
the river and one on the other bank of the river. 6 One said to the man who was dressed
in linen, who was above the water of the river, "How long until the end of the amazing
things which you have told?" 7 I heard the man who was dressed in linen, who was
above the water of the river. He lifted up his right hand and his left hand to heaven and
swore by the one who lives forever, "For a season, and seasons, B and half a season.
When the dispersion of the hand of the sanctified people C is completed, they will know
all these things." 8 I heard, yet I did not understand; I said, "O Lord, which are the last
of these things?" 9 He said, "Go, Daniel, for the words have been concluded and sealed
until the season of the end. 10 Many are being chosen, whitened, refined, and
sanctified. D The lawless will act lawlessly; none of the lawless will understand, yet the
thoughtful will understand. 11 After the season of the alteration of the regular practice, E
the abomination of desolation will be given for twelve hundred ninety days. F 12 Fortunate
is the one who endures and reaches thirteen hundred thirty-five days. 13 Go and rest, for
there are still more days G until the fulfillment of the consummation. You will rest and
rise to your allotment at the consummation of days."
