filled your treasures and your storehouses among you with gold from the day you were
created. 14 I placed you with the cherub on the holy mountain of God; you were in the
midst of fiery stones. 15 You were blameless in your days, from the day you were
created until unjust acts were found in you. 16 From the abundance of your merchandise
you filled your storerooms with lawless acts. You sinned, and you were wounded due to
the mountain of God; the cherub brought you out of the midst of the fiery stones.
17 Your heart was exalted over your beauty; your skill was ruined with your beauty.
Because of the multitude of your sins, I threw you to the ground; I gave you to become
a spectacle before kings. 18 Because of the multitude of your sins and the unjust acts of
your merchandise, I profaned your sacred things. I will bring fire out of your midst; this
will devour you. I will give you as ashes over your land before all who see you. 19 All
who perceive you among the nations will groan over you; you became destruction, and
you will no longer exist forever."´"
20 The word of the Lord was directed at me, saying, 21 "Son of man, set your face
against Sidon and prophesy against it; 22 say, `Thus says the Lord: "Behold, I am
against you, O Sidon, yet I will be glorified in you. You will know that I am the Lord
when I perform judgments in you, and I will be sanctified in you. 23 Blood and death will
be in your streets; those who have been wounded by swords will fall in you all around
you, and they will know that I am the Lord. 24 There will no longer be for the house of
Israel a thorn of bitterness and a thistle of grief from those all around them who
dishonored them, and they will know that I am the Lord."
25 Thus says the Lord God: "I will also gather Israel from the nations, among whom
they were scattered there. I will be sanctified among them, in the sight of the peoples
and nations, and they will reside on their land which I have given to my slave Jacob.
26 They will reside on it in hope; they will build houses, plant vineyards, and reside in
hope whenever I execute a judgment among all who dishonored them, among those
who are around them. They will know that I am the Lord their God and the God of their
fathers."´"
Ezekiel 29
1 In the twelfth year, in the tenth month, on the first of the month, the word of the
Lord was directed at me, saying, 2 "Son of man, set your face against the Pharaoh, the
king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against the whole of Egypt. 3 Say, `Thus
says the Lord: "Behold, I am against the Pharaoh, B the great dragon who sits in the
midst of his rivers, who says, `The rivers are mine, and I myself made them.´ 4 I will
put hooks into your jaws, and I will join the fish of your river to your wings; I will bring
you up out of the midst of your river, as well as all the fish of your river. 5 I will quickly
pull you down as well as all the fish of your river; you will fall on the surface of the
