sea, there will be the first fruits of what was set apart, twenty-five thousand in width
and in length, just like one of the portions from those toward the east and as far as
those toward the sea. The holy place will be in their midst, 9 the first fruits which they
will set apart for the Lord, twenty-five thousand in length and twenty-five thousand in
width. 10 From these, the first fruits of the holy places will be for the priests: toward the
north, twenty-five thousand; toward the sea, ten thousand in breadth; A and toward the
south, twenty-five thousand in length. The mountain of the holy places will be in its
midst 11 for the priests, the sanctified sons of Zadok who keep the watches of the house,
who were not deceived in the deception of the sons of Israel, in the manner that the
Levites were deceived. 12 The first fruits will be given to them out of the first fruits of the
land, a holy of holies from the borders of the Levites. 13 The Levites will have the parts
next to the borders of the priests, twenty-five thousand in length and ten thousand in
width; all the length will be twenty-five thousand, and the width twenty thousand.
14
Nothing from it will be sold or measured, neither will the initial offerings of the land be
removed, for they are holy to the Lord.
15
The five thousand which remain beyond the breadth, beyond the twenty-five
thousand, will be a fortification for the city, resulting in its residence and space; the city
will be in its midst. 16 These are its measurements: B from those toward the north, four
thousand five hundred; from those toward the south, four thousand five hundred; from
those toward the east, four thousand five hundred; and from those toward the sea, four
thousand five hundred. 17 There will be a space for the city: toward the north, two
hundred fifty; toward the south, two hundred fifty; toward the east, two hundred fifty;
and toward the sea, two hundred fifty. 18 The remainder of the length which is next to
the first fruits of the holy places will be ten thousand toward the east and ten thousand
toward the sea. They will be the first fruits of the holy place; its produce will result in
bread for those who make the city. 19 Those who make the city will make it out of all the
tribes of Israel. 20 All the first fruits will be a square, twenty-five thousand by twenty-five
thousand; you will set apart the first fruits of it, the holy place, from the possession of
the city.
21
The remainder of this side and of that side from the first fruits of the holy place
will be for the governor, resulting in the possession of the city up to twenty-five
thousand in length as far as the borders which are toward the east and toward the sea,
up to twenty-five thousand as far as the borders which are toward the sea next to the
portions of the governor. The first fruits of the holy places and the sacred place of the
house will be in its midst. 22 It will be from the possession of the Levites and from the
possession of the city in the midst of the governors; it will belong to the governors
between the borders of Judah and the borders of Benjamin.
23
The remainder of the tribes: from those toward the east as far as those toward the
sea, for Benjamin, one; 24 from the borders of Benjamin, from those toward the east as
far as those toward the sea, for Simeon, one; 25 from the borders of Simeon, from those
A VA ¦ + toward the east, ten thousand in breadth;
B The antecedent for "its measurements" is the city, but for "its residence" and "its
midst" in the previous verse, the antecedent is the fortification
