Ezekiel 22
1 The word of the Lord was directed at me, saying, 2 "Son of man, will you judge the
city of blood? Exhibit her all her lawless acts. 3 You will say, `Thus says the Lord, the
Lord: "O city who pours out blood in her midst in order for her season to come, and
who produces considerations against herself in order to defile herself, 4 in their blood
which you poured out you have trespassed, and in your considerations which you
produced you defiled yourself. You made your days near and brought on the season of
your years. Because of this, I have given you to be a reproach to the nations and to be
a mockery to all the countries, 5 to those who are near to you and to those who are far
away from you. Among you they will be mocking, `She who is notoriously unclean and
abundant in lawless acts.´ 6 Behold, the governors of the house of Israel were each
mixed together among you against his relatives so that they might pour out blood.
7 Among you they spoke wickedly of father and mother, and among you they engaged in
unjust acts against the guest; among you they overpowered an orphan and a widow.
8 They nullified my holy things and they profaned my sabbaths among you. 9 They are
thieving men among you so that they might pour out blood among you. They ate on
the mountains among you; they performed unhallowed acts in your midst. 10 Among you
they revealed the shame of a father, and among you they humiliated a woman who
was sitting apart during unclean times. 11 They each acted lawlessly with the wife of his
neighbor, they each defiled his daughter-in-law one in ungodliness, and among you
they each humiliated his sister, the daughter of his father. 12 They received gifts among
you so that they might pour out blood; they received interest and excess gain among
you. You brought about the completion of your wickedness which involved an
overpowering, and you forgot me," says the Lord.
13 "If I launch an attack with my hand on top of my hand against the things which
you completed, which you performed, and against your bloody acts which have
occurred in your midst, 14 will your heart be sustained? Will your hands be mighty on the
days on which I act among you? I the Lord have spoken, and I will act. 15 I will scatter
you among the nations and disperse you in the countries, and your uncleanness will
leave you. 16 I will give an inheritance among you in the eyes of the nations, and you
will know that I am the Lord."´"
