38 Its priestly chambers, its doorways, and its ulamim were at the gate; there they
rinsed the whole burnt offering. 39 In the ulam of the second gate, there was an outlet.
There were two tables on this side and two tables on that side, A so that they might
slaughter the whole burnt offering, B those on behalf of sin and on behalf of ignorance.
40 Behind the drain of the whole burnt offerings which looked to the north, there were
two tables to the east, and behind the second one and the ulam of the gate, there were
two tables toward the east, 41 four on this side and four on that side behind the gate.
They slaughter the sacrificial victims on them, in front of the eight tables of sacrificial
victims. 42 There were four hewn stone tables of the whole burnt offerings; the width
was one and a half cubits, the length was two and a half cubits, and the height was
about cubit. On them they will place the implements by which they slaughter there the
whole burnt offerings and the sacrificial victims. 43 They will have a hewn cornice, a span
inside all around, and over the tables, roofs above for covering from the rain and from
the dryness.
44 He brought me into the inner courtyard, and behold, there were two arcades in
the inner courtyard, one leading to the south behind the gate which looked to the
north, and one behind the gate which was to the south but which looked to the north.
45 He said to me, "This arcade which looks to the south is for the priests who keep the
watch of the house, 46 and the arcade which looks to the north is for the priests who
keep the watch of the altar. Those are the sons of Zadok, the ones from Levi who draw
near to the Lord to perform public service for him." 47 He measured the courtyard; the
length was one hundred cubits and the breadth was one hundred cubits on its four
sides. The altar was in front of the house.
48 He brought me into the ulam of the house, and he measured the ayil of the ulam.
The width was five cubits on this side and five cubits on that side; the breadth of the
doorway was fourteen cubits, and the shoulder pieces of the door of the ulam were
three cubits on this side and three cubits on that side. 49 The length of the ulam was
twenty cubits, and the breadth was twelve cubits. They would go up to it by ten steps;
there were pillars on the ulam, one on this side and one on that side.
Ezekiel 41
1 He brought me into the sanctuary, the ulam of which he measured; the width was
six cubits on this side, and the breadth of the ulam was six cubits on that side. 2 The
breadth of the gateway was ten cubits, and the shoulder pieces of the gateway were
five cubits on this side and five cubits on that side. He measured its length as forty
cubits and the breadth as twenty cubits. 3 He entered the inner courtyard and measured
the ayil of the doorway as two cubits, the doorway as six cubits, and the shoulder
pieces of the doorway as seven cubits on this side and seven cubits on that side. 4 He
measured the length of the doors as forty cubits and the breadth as twenty cubits in
