will whistle to them from the end of the earth. Behold, they are quickly coming with
ease. 27 They will not be hungry, or grow weary, or slumber, or sleep, or loosen their
belts from their waists, nor will the straps of their sandals be broken. 28 Their arrows are
sharp and their bows are bent; the feet of their horses are reckoned as solid rock; the
wheels of their chariots are like a hurricane. 29 They rush forth like lions; they stood near
like a lion's cub. He will seize and cry out like a wild animal; he will drive them out, and
there will be no one who will deliver them. 30 He will cry out because of them on that
day like the sound of the undulating sea. They will look to the land, and behold, in their
perplexity there will be thick darkness.
Isaiah 6
1 It happened that, in the year in which Uzziah the king died, I saw the Lord sitting
on a high and exalted throne, and the house was full of his glory. 2 Seraphim A stood
around him. One had six wings, and the other had six wings; with two they covered the
face, with two they covered the feet, and with two they flew. 3 One shouted to the
other, and they said, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of sabaóth; all the earth is full of his
glory." 4 The lintel was lifted up due to the sound which they shouted, and the house
was filled with smoke. 5 I said, "Oh, I am wretched, for I am stunned. For I am a man
and have unclean lips, and I reside in the midst of a people who have unclean lips, yet I
saw with my eyes the King, the Lord of sabaóth."
6 One of the seraphim was sent forth to me, and he had in his hand a coal, which he
had taken from the altar with the tongs. 7 He touched my mouth and said, "Behold, this
touched your lips; it will take away your lawless acts and cleanse your sins." 8 I heard
the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom will I send forth, and who will go to this people?" I
said, "Behold, I am here; send me forth." 9 He said, "Go and say to this people, `You
will hear a report, yet will not understand, and will look and look, yet will not see.´
10 For the heart of this people became dull; they heard with their ears with difficulty and
closed their eyes, or else they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts, and return, and I would cure them." 11 I said, "How long,
O Lord?" He said, "Until cities are deserted due to not being inhabited, and houses due
to there being no men, and the land will be abandoned as a desert. 12 After this, God
will move the men to a distance, and those who were abandoned will multiply over the
earth. 13 A tenth will still be upon it, and it will again be for foraging, like a turpentine
tree and like an acorn when it falls out of its husk."
Isaiah 7
1 It happened in the days of Ahaz son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah,
that Rezin king of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel went up against
Jerusalem to wage war against it, yet they were not able to lay siege to it. 2 It was
reported to the house of David, "Aram has conspired with Ephraim." His soul was
