this way you produced ungodliness over all your lawless acts.
44 These are all the things which they said against you in an illustration, saying, `Like
mother, like daughter.´ 45 You are the daughter of your mother; you are the one who
rejected her husband and her children. You are the sisters of your sisters; you are the
ones who rejected their husbands and their children. Your mother was a Hittite, and
your father was an Amorite. 46 Your older sister is Samaria, she and her daughters, who
resides on your left hand. Your younger sister, who resides on your right hand, is
Sodom and her daughters. 47 You did not go in their ways or act according to their
lawless acts just a little; you excelled them in all your ways. 48 As I live," says the Lord,
"Sodom your sister, she and her daughters, have not acted in the manner that you and
your daughters acted. 49 Moreover, this lawless deed of Sodom your sister was
arrogance; she and her daughters were living in luxury, in an abundance of bread and
in a bounty of wine. This belonged to her and her daughters, and they did not assist
the hand of one who is poor and needy. 50 They bragged and performed lawless deeds
in my sight; I removed them as I saw them. 51 Samaria did not sin according to half of
your sins. You multiplied your lawless acts beyond them, and you justified your sisters
in all your lawless acts which you performed. 52 Reap your torment in which you ruined
your sisters by your sins, by which you engaged in lawlessness beyond them and
justified them beyond yourself. Be ashamed and receive your dishonor in your justifying
of your sisters.
53 I will turn their turning away, the turning away of Sodom and her daughters; I will
turn the turning away of Samaria and her daughters; I will turn your turning away in
their midst, 54 so that you may reap your torment and be dishonored for everything
which you did in your provoking me. 55 Your sister Sodom and her daughters will be
restored just as they were from the beginning, Samaria and her daughters will be
restored just as they were from the beginning, A and you and your daughters will be
restored just as you were from the beginning. 56 Surely Sodom your sister was not in
your mouth as a report in the days of your arrogance, 57 before your wicked acts were
revealed in the manner that you are now the reproach of the daughters of Syria and of
all who are around her, of the daughters of the Philistines who encompass you all
around. 58 As for your ungody acts and your lawless acts, you reaped them," says the
Lord. 59 Thus says the Lord: "I will also do in you just as you did, as you dishonored
these things so as to transgress my testament. 60 I will remember my testament which is
with you in the days of your infancy, and I will resurrect for you an eternal testament.
61 You will remember your way, and you will be dishonored when you receive your older
sisters with your younger ones. I will give them to you for edification, yet not as a
result of your testament. 62 I will resurrect my testament with you, and you will
recognize that I am the Lord, 63 so that you may remember and be ashamed, and it
would no longer occur to you to open your mouth due to the presence of your
dishonor, when I am reconciled B to you for everything which you did," says the Lord.´"
