15 All their wicked acts are in Gilgal, for I hated them there; because of the wicked
acts of their habits, I will drive them out of my house. I will not continue to love them;
all their rulers are distrustful. 16 Ephraim was afflicted. He dried up at his roots; he will
no longer bear fruit. For even if they conceive, I will kill the desired things of their
womb. 17 God will reject them, because they did not listen to him; they will be
wanderers among the nations.
Hosea 10
1 Israel is a luxuriantly growing vine; its fruit is flourishing. According to the multitude
of his fruits, he multiplied the altars; according to the good things of his land, he built
pillars. 2 They divided their hearts; now they will be obliterated. He himself will raze their
altars; their pillars will suffer.
3 For now they will say, "We have no king, because we did not fear the Lord. What
will a king do for us?" 4 He will make a testament while speaking words which are false
professions; judgment will spring up like grass on the soil of the field. 5 Those who
reside in Samaria will sojourn near the calf of the house of On, for his people mourned
over him. Just as they provoked him, they will rejoice over his glory, for it migrated
away from him. 6 After they bound him for the Assyrians, they carried away presents for
King Jareb; Ephraim will receive a gift, and Israel will be ashamed of his counsel.
7 Samaria threw away her king like a twig on the surface of the water. 8 The platforms of
On, the sins of Israel, will be taken away. Thorns and thistles will come up on their
altars; they will say to the mountains, "Cover us," and to the hills, "Fall on us."
9 Since there were hills, Israel sinned; there they stood. Will not war against the
children of wrongdoing overtake them on the hill? 10 He came to discipline them;
peoples will be gathered against them when they are disciplined for their two
wrongdoings.
11 Ephraim is a calf taught to love a quarrel, but I will come against the most
beautiful part of her neck. I will mount Ephraim; I will pass over Judah in silence; Jacob
will prevail against him. 12 Sow for yourselves resulting in righteousness; reap resulting
in the fruit of life. Light for yourselves the light of knowledge; seek the Lord until the
produce of righteousness comes to you. 13 Why did you pass over ungodliness in silence,
and reap its wrongdoings? You ate false fruit, for you hoped in your chariots, in the
multitude of your force. 14 Destruction will rise up among your people, and all your
fortified places will depart like the ruler Solomon out of the house of Jeroboam. In the
days of war, they dashed mother upon children. 15 So I will do to you, O house of Israel,
due to the presence of your wicked acts. Early in the morning they were thrown away;
the king of Israel was thrown away.
Hosea 11
1 For Israel is an infant, and I loved him; out of Egypt I summoned his children. 2 As I
summoned them, so they departed from my presence; they were sacrificing to the
Baalim, and were burning incense to the carvings. 3 I myself bound the feet of Ephraim;
I took him on my arm, and they did not know that I healed them. 4 During the ruin of
