their teeth and proclaim peace over them. Nothing was given into their mouths; they
raised up war over them. 6 Because of this, you will have a night without a vision, and
you will have darkness without a divination. The sun will set over the prophets, and the
day will darken over them. 7 Those who look at dreams will be ashamed, and the
diviners will be laughed at. Everyone will speak against them, because there will be no
one who will listen to them. 8 Surely I will be full of strength in the Spirit of the Lord, of
judgment and dominance, so as to announce to Jacob his ungodly acts and to Israel his
sins. 9 Now hear these things, you who govern the house of Jacob and you remnants of
the house of Israel, who abhor judgment and pervert all the upright things, 10 who build
Zion with bloodshed and Jerusalem with unrighteous acts. 11 Those who govern her sat
in judgment for gifts, her priests replied for a fee, and her prophets practiced divination
for silver. Yet they rested their hopes on the Lord, saying, "Is the Lord not among us?
Wicked things will not come upon us." 12 Because of this, Zion will be plowed like a field
because of you; Jerusalem will be like a gardener's hut, and the mountain of the house
like a grove of the forest.
Micah 4
1 It will be that, at the end of days, the mountain of the Lord will be visible, prepared
on the tops of the mountains, and it will be elevated above the hills. The peoples will
hurry to it. 2 Many nations will go and say, "Come, let us ascend to the mountain of the
Lord and to the house of the God of Jacob. They will show us his way, and we will walk
in his paths." For the law will come out of Zion and the word of the Lord out of
Jerusalem. 3 He will judge between many peoples, and will reprove strong nations as far
as a distant land. They will beat their swords into plows and their spears into sickles. A
nation will no longer pick up a sword against a nation, and they will no longer learn to
wage war. 4 Each one will rest under his vine and each one under his fig tree. There will
be no one who will make them afraid, for the mouth of the almighty Lord spoken these
things. 5 For all the peoples will walk, each one in his own way, but we will walk in the
name of the Lord our God forever and beyond.
6 "On that day," says the Lord, "I will gather her who has been bruised, and I will
receive her who has been cast out and those whom I rejected. 7 I will make her who has
been bruised into a remnant, and her who has been rejected into a strong nation." The
Lord will reign over them on Mount Zion from now on, even forever. 8 You, O squalid
tower of the flock, O daughter of Zion, the former realm will reach you and enter in, the
kingdom from Babylon for the daughter of Jerusalem.
9 Now why have you known wicked things? Was there not a king for you, or did your
counsel perish? For pains like those of a woman giving birth have seized you. 10 Be in
pain, be brave, and draw near, O daughter of Zion, like a woman giving birth. For now
you will come out of the city and dwell in the plain, and reach as far as Babylon. From
there he will deliver you, and from there the Lord your God will redeem you out of the
hand of your enemies. 11 Now many nations have gathered against you, who are saying,
"We will rejoice, and our eyes will look over Zion." 12 They did not know the plan of the
Lord and have not understood his counsel, for he gathered them like sheaves from the
threshing floor. 13 Arise and thresh them, O daughter of Zion, for I will make your horns
