9 Because of this, thus says the Lord: "I will also magnify the kindling. 10 I will multiply<br />
the wood and ignite the fire so that the meat may dissolve, A and the sauce diminish B<br />
11 and stand over the coals, C so that her bronze may be scorched, be heated, D and melt<br />
in the midst of her uncleanness, her poison may cease, 12 and her abundant poison may<br />
not come out of her. Her poison will be put to shame. 13 Since you defiled yourself, E<br />
what if you are no longer cleansed until I fulfill my fury? 14 I the Lord have spoken. It<br />
will arrive, and I will do it; I will not set aside, and I will not have mercy. I will judge<br />
you according to your ways and according to your considerations," says the Lord.<br />
"Because of this, I will judge you according to your bloody acts, and I will judge you<br />
according to your considerations, O unclean, notorious, and abundantly provoking<br />
one."´"<br />
15 The word of the Lord was directed at me, saying, 16 "Son of man, behold, I am<br />
taking out of you the desires of your eyes by means of a battle line. You will not mourn<br />
and you will not weep. 17 There is a groaning of blood, of loins, and of grief; your hair<br />
will not be braided on you, and your sandals will not be on your feet. You will not be<br />
comforted by their lips, and you will not eat the bread of men." 18 I spoke to the people<br />
in the morning in the manner that he commanded me in the evening. F I acted in the<br />
morning in the manner that it was ordered to me. 19 The people said to me, "Won't you<br />
tell us what these things are which you are doing? 20 I said to them, "The word of the<br />
Lord was directed at me, saying, 21 `Say to the house of Israel, "Thus says the Lord:<br />
`Behold, I will profane my holy things, the boast of your strength, the desires of your<br />
eyes, and the things about which your souls are concerned. Your sons and your<br />
daughters, whom you abandoned, will fall by the sword. 22 You will act in the manner<br />
that I have acted; you will not be comforted from their mouth, and you will not eat the<br />
bread of men. 23 Your hair will be on your head and your sandals will be on your feet,<br />
and you will neither mourn nor weep. You will languish in your wrongdoings, yet each<br />
of you will comfort his brother. 24 Ezekiel will exist as a wonder for you; in agreement<br />
with everything which I did, G you will do whenever these things come, and you will<br />
recognize that I am the Lord.´"<br />
25 Son of man, won't it be on the day when I take the strength from them, the<br />
expansion of their boasting, the covetous acts of their eyes, and the expansion of their<br />
