as many as are left around you, will know that I the Lord built the desolated places and
planted the obliterated places. I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it."
37 Thus says the Lord God: "I will still be sought by the house of Israel to do this for
them: I will multiply them like human sheep, 38 like holy sheep, like the sheep of
Jerusalem during her festivals. In this way, the deserted cities will be full of human
sheep, and they will know that I am the Lord."´"
Ezekiel 37
1 The hand of the Lord was on me. The Lord brought me out in spirit and put me in
the midst of a plain; the latter was full of human bones. 2 He led me around them in a
circle, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the plain, and behold, they
were exceedingly dry. 3 He said to me, "Son of man, will these bones live?" I said, "O
Lord God, only you are certain of this." 4 He said to me, "Prophesy over these bones;
you will say to them, `O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. 5 Thus says the Lord to
these bones: "Behold, I will bring over you the breath of life. 6 I will give tendons over
you, bring up flesh over you, extend skin over you, and give my Spirit to you, and you
will live. You will know that I am the Lord."´"
7 I prophesied just as he commanded me. It happened that, while I was
prophesying, behold, A there was a shaking, and he attached the bones, each to its
joint. 8 I looked, and behold, tendons and flesh were growing over them, and skin was
going up over them from above, yet there was no spirit among them. 9 He said to me,
"Prophesy, son of man; prophesy over the spirit, and say to the spirit, `Thus says the
Lord: "Come, O spirit, from the four winds of heaven; B breathe into these dead men
and let them live."´" 10 I prophesied just as he commanded me; the spirit entered into
them, and they lived and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly large congregation.
11 The Lord spoke to me, saying, "Son of man, these bones are all the house of
Israel. They are saying, `Our bones have become dry; our hope has perished; we are in
disarray.´ 12 Because of this, prophesy and say, `Thus says the Lord: "Behold, I will
open your tombs; I will bring you up out of your tombs, and I will bring you into the
land of Israel. 13 You will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves in order for
me to bring my people up out of their graves. 14 I will give my Spirit to you and you will
live, and I will put you on your land. You will know that I am the Lord; I have spoken,
and I will do it," says the Lord.´"
15 The word of the Lord was directed at me, saying, 16 "Son of man, take for yourself
a rod and write on it, `Judah and the sons of Israel which belong to him.´ You will take
for yourself a second rod and write it for Joseph, `The rod of Ephraim and all the sons
of Israel which were added to it.´ 17 You will join them to each other for yourself so as
to bind them into one rod; they will be in your hand. 18 It will be that, whenever the
sons of your people say to you, `Will you not tell us what these things are to you?´
