Ezekiel 32
1 It happened that, in the twelfth year, in the tenth month, A on the first of the
month, the word of the Lord was directed at me, saying, 2 "Son of man, take up a
lamentation over the Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. You will say to him, `You became
similar to a lion of the nations, and you are like a dragon which is in the sea. You gored
with your rivers, disturbed water with your feet, and trampled on your rivers. 3 Thus
says the Lord: "I will also throw over you the nets of many peoples, and I will bring you
up with my hook. 4 I will extend you over the earth; the plains will be filled with you. I
will cause all the birds of heaven to sit on you, and by you I will fill all the beasts of the
earth. 5 I will give your flesh on the mountains, and I will fill them from your blood. 6 The
earth will be drenched with your excrement, due to your multitude on the mountains; I
will fill valleys from you. 7 I will cover up heaven when you are extinguished, and I will
darken its stars; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon will not shine its light.
8 Everything which shines light in heaven will darken over you, and I will give darkness
over the earth," says the Lord God. 9 "I will make the heart of many peoples wrathful
whenever I lead your captivity into the nations, into a land which you did not know.
10 Many nations will be gloomy over you, and their kings will be stunned when my sword
flies at their faces, while they await their fall from the day of your fall." 11 For thus says
the Lord God: "The sword of the king of Babylon will arrive at you 12 with the swords of
giants; I will throw down your strength. They are all nuisances from the nations; they
will destroy the arrogance of Egypt, and all her strength will be broken. 13 I will destroy
all her livestock due to much water; the foot of a man will not disturb it any longer, and
the tracks of livestock will not trample it. 14 Then their waters will be quiet in this way,
and their rivers will go like oil," says the Lord, 15 "whenever I give Egypt to destruction
and the land with its fullness is deserted, whenever I disperse everyone who resides in
it; they will know that I am the Lord. 16 There is a lamentation, and you will lament with
it. The daughters of the nations will lament with it; they will lament with it over Egypt
and over all her strength," says the Lord God.´"
17 It happened that, in the twelfth year, in the first month, on the fifteenth of the
month, the word of the Lord was directed at me, saying, 18 "Son of man, lament over
the strength of Egypt. The nations will bring her daughters down dead into the depth of
the earth, to those who go down into the trench. B 20 They will fall with him in the midst
of those who were wounded by the sword, and all his strength will sleep. 21 The giants
will say to you, `Be in the depth of the trench; to whom are you superior? Go down and
