This is an opportunity for Board members to expand on topics presented during the
workshop and to discuss issues and ideas that are important to them. Staff will lead a
discussion to assist the Board members in evaluating potential future funding scenarios
in light of emerging issues, an environment of fiscal uncertainty, and the continuing
water management needs presented during the workshop. This may include creative
funding and budget allocation considerations. Staff will also seek topics for the
December joint workshop of the Governing and Basin Boards

The items listed below are for the Board's information, intended to keep the Board apprised
of completed projects, cancelled projects, and projects that have executed contracts and are
ready to begin. These items do not require Board action at this time.
1. Budget Transfer Report
MANASOTA BASIN BOARD
Purpose – This item is to provide the Basin Board with information regarding a Basin
budget transfer that has been approved by the Executive Director since the date of the
last report.
Background – In accordance with Board Policy No.130-8, the Executive Director is
delegated authority to execute budget transfers of $50,000 or less that do not involve
contingency funds. The Governing Board via the Consent Agenda subsequently ratifies
all such transfers. The delegated budget transfers, if related to a Basin budget, are also
presented as an information item to the appropriate Basin Board.
The Executive Director approved a Manasota Basin budget transfer of $30,000 on
August 10, 2009, which was ratified by the Governing Board on August 25, 2009. The
funds were originally budgeted to treat and control infestations of Old World Climbing
