Charlotte County had previously requested a second amendment to this project which was scheduled to go for approval
at the August Peace River Basin Board meeting. However, in a letter dated July 31, 2008, Charlotte County has
cancelled the Charlotte County Golf Course Reuse Storage Project. The project has been cancelled due to the
foreclosure of one of the main customers of the project, Kings Island Golf Course. A liquidation memo has been
processed for the $414,071 that was encumbered for this project and the funds will be returned to the Basin Board. Of
the total amount, funds in the amount of $120,328 were allocated to this project from the Water Protection and
Sustainability Trust Fund Program. The trust funds will be reallocated to another eligible project located within the Peace
River Basin.
