District staff has drafted the agreement and has been waiting for the results of the Bradenton/Manatee Co./Palmetto
Reuse Interconnect Study (L854), before finalizing the agreement. The preliminary results of that study indicates the this
project is not needed. The study points out that the City of Palmetto's reclaimed water supply will be sufficient to meet
that City's requirements for the next twenty years. The City of Bradenton has excess reclaimed water supply that needs
to be beneficially utilized. Interconnecting the City of Bradenton's reclaimed water system with the City of Palmetto's will
not produce the benefit anticipated. The City of Bradenton has requested to withdraw this project.
