DC Bus (L+, L-)<br />

By means of the DC bus connection, the following components are linked:<br />

• several drive controllers to one another, and<br />

• drive controllers to additional components in order to<br />

• increase the stored power by means of DC bus capacitor unit<br />

• increase the permissible braking resistor continuous output by<br />

means of DC bus resistor unit<br />

The DC bus is connected via contact bars and screws (M6) at the front of<br />

the drive controller. Depending on the width of the drive controllers, there<br />

are contact bars of different lengths.<br />

If in special cases it is not possible to use the DC bus rails for connection,<br />

connection must be established using the shortest possible twisted wires.<br />

Length of twisted wire HCS02: max. 2 m<br />

HCS03: max. 4 m<br />

Damage caused by voltage arcing!<br />

⇒ If drive controllers are stacked in the control cabinet,<br />

the connections for the DC buses between the drive<br />

controllers have to be correctly made.<br />

The figures below illustrate the correct DC bus connection for stacked<br />

drive controllers. The illustrated way of connection keeps bare wire<br />

sections from being situated directly vis-à-vis. This avoids voltage arcing.<br />

The cables have to be twisted.<br />

CAUTION<br />

Risk of damage!<br />

⇒ Connect the devices both to the left and to the right<br />

screw connection at the terminal block.<br />
