8.4 Service and Maintenance<br />

Deactivation<br />

Dismantling<br />

In the case of malfunctions, maintenance measures or to deactivate the<br />

motors, proceed as follows:<br />

1. Observe the instructions of the machine documentation.<br />

2. Use the machine-side control commands to bring the drive to a<br />

controlled standstill.<br />

3. Switch off the power and control voltage of the drive controller.<br />

4. Only at motors with fan unit: Switch off the motor protection switch<br />

for the motor fan.<br />

5. Switch off the main switch of the machine.<br />

6. Secure the machine against accidental movements and against<br />

unauthorized operation.<br />

7. Wait for the discharge time of the electrical systems to expire and<br />

then disconnect all electrical connections.<br />

8. Before dismantling, secure the motor and blower unit against falling<br />

or movements before disconnecting the mechanical connections.<br />

Fatal injury due to errors in trigger motors and<br />

moving elements!<br />

Do not work on unsecured and operating machines.<br />

Before dismantling, secure the motor and power<br />

supply against falling or movements before<br />

disconnecting the mechanical connections.<br />

Combustion via hot surface with temperatures<br />

over 100°C<br />

⇒ Let the motor cool down, before maintenance. The<br />

stated thermal time constant in the technical data is<br />

a measure for the cooling time. A cooling time up to<br />

140 minutes can be necessary!<br />

⇒ Do not work on hot surfaces.<br />

⇒ Use safety gloves.<br />

1. Observe the instructions of the machine documentation.<br />

2. Please heed the safety notes and carry out all steps as described in<br />

the anterior instructions in the chapter ”Deactivation”.<br />

3. Before dismantling, secure the motor and power supply against falling<br />

or movements before disconnecting the mechanical connections.<br />

4. Dismantle the motor from the machine. Store the motor properly!<br />
