de los defectos intraóseos. La monitorización bacteriana de esta combinación<br />

de tratamiento (Kornman y Robertson, 1985) demostró que los sitios con<br />

valores elevados de A. actinomycetemcomitans presentaban una mejor respuesta<br />

a la cirugía más tetraciclina que al raspado más tetraciclina. También<br />

se ha observado que la cirugía más tetraciclina puede eliminar completamente<br />

a A. actinomycetemcomitans de la flora subgingival hasta 12 meses<br />

(Mandell y Socransky, 1988). Sin embargo, se ha demostrado (Pavicic et al.,<br />

1994) que esto puede conseguirse durante 2 años con metronidazol y amoxicilina<br />

más raspado y alisado radicular (v. antes). Aún no se han realizado<br />

estudios de estos antibióticos en combinación con la cirugía.<br />
