18. Asır Osmanlı İstanbul’unda Bir İlim ve Edebiyat Merkezi: Hoca Neş’et ve Edebî Mahfili<br />
Her alanda yenileşmenin boy gösterdiği 18. asır Osmanlı İstanbul’unda, müspet yenilikleri destekleyen şahsiyetler<br />
ile bu şahsiyetlerin konaklarında icra edilen ilmî ve edebî faaliyetlerin varlığı bilinmektedir. Himayeci kimliğiyle<br />
meşhur olan bu şahsiyetlerden Hoca Neş’et Efendi, bu asırdaki “kaht-ı ricâl” sorununa çare olmak için İstanbul’un Molla<br />
Gürani semtindeki konağını hizmete açarak kültürlü insan yetiştirip kalem erbabını çoğaltmaya gayret etmiş ve hüner<br />
sahiplerine hâmilik etmiştir.<br />
Devrin önde gelen mesnevihanlarından biri olan Hoca Neş’et Efendi, mahfilinde Mesnevî-i Ma’nevî başta olmak<br />
üzere, Sâ’ib ve Şevket Şerhleri, Pendnâme, Bostân ve Gülistân gibi Türk ve İran edebiyatlarına damgasını vuran klasik<br />
eserleri okutmuş ve isteklilerine Farsçanın inceliklerini öğretmiştir. Mahfili, şiir ve edebiyatta boy ölçüşen şairlerden müteşekkil<br />
bir meclis hüviyetindedir. Neş’et’in öncülüğünde toplanan ilim ve sanat erbabı, mahfili adeta nazire meclisi haline<br />
getirmiş; böylece mahfil, asrın nazirecilik geleneğini canlı tutan bir merkez konumuna yükselmiştir. Neş’et, istidadı olan<br />
talebelerine mahlas vermiş; Divan’ında da yer alan yirmiye yakın mahlasnamesiyle Türk edebiyatındaki mahlasnamelerin<br />
en önemli temsilcisi olmuştur.<br />
Bu çalışmanın amacı, 18. asır Osmanlı İstanbul’unda ilmî, edebî ve toplumsal yönleriyle İstanbul’un parmakla<br />
gösterilen üstadı olarak kabul ve saygı gören Neş’et Efendi ile mahfilini devrin sosyal yapısı içerisinde incelemek ve ekol<br />
haline gelen “Neş’et Okulu”nu bir model olarak ortaya koymaktır.<br />

In 18 th Century Ottoman Istanbul a Centre of Scholarly and Literature Activities:<br />
Hodja Neş’et and His Literary Circle<br />
In 18 th century Ottoman Istanbul, a time period with many innovations in different areas, there were scholars who<br />
supported these innovations and their mansions were home to literature and scholarly activities. Hodja Neş’et Efendi, who<br />
is famous for his support to maintain scholarly activities, in order to solve the problem of “kaht-ı rical” in this century, he<br />
opened his mansion in Istanbul Molla Gürani with the purpose of train new scholars and raise their number.<br />
Hodja Neş’et Efendi, one of the well-known “mesnevihan” in that period, studied many Iranian and Turkish masterpieces<br />
such as Masnawi, Sâ’ib and Şevket Şerhi, Pendnâme, Bostân and Gülistân and taught Persian to eager ones in his<br />
circle. His literary circle is of great significance in his period as the circle consisted of many important poets. Literature<br />
authorities gathering in the leadership of Neş’et turn the literarcy circles into “nazire” circles; thus contributing the status<br />
of the circle as being a centre of “nazire” tradition. Neş’et gave pseudonym (mahlas) to his successful students; his reputation<br />
as being one of the important masters of “mahlasname” grew as he produced approximately twenty masterpiece in<br />
“mahlas” genre.<br />
The aim of this study is to explore Neş’et Efendi, a well-respected author, and his literature circles in many aspects<br />
such as literary and scholarly value, and social dimensions and present the Neş’et School as a model in 18 th century<br />
Ottoman Istanbul.
