Kuruluş Döneminde Bizans’a Giden Osmanlı Hanedan Mensupları
Bizans’ın Bitinya olarak adlandırdığı Selçuklu’nun uç bölgesinde küçük bir beylik olarak tarih sahnesine çıkan
Osmanlı Devleti, daha kuruluşunun hemen başında Bizans’la sıkı temaslar içerisinde olmuştur. Osmanlı Hanedanının ve
devletinin kurucusu Osman Gazi, bir taraftan bazı Bizanslı tekfurlarla savaşırken bazılarıyla da sıkı dostluk ilişkileri geliştirmiştir.
Osman Gazi’den itibaren birçok Osmanlı hanedan mensubu Bizans’la temas halinde olmuştur. Bunun temaslar
neticesinde de Bizans başkenti Konstantinopolis bazı Osmanlı hanedan mensuplarını misafir etmiştir. Bizans’a giden
Osmanlı hanedan mensuplarının iki amaca yönelik olarak bu seyahati gerçekleştirdiklerini görüyoruz: Bazı Osmanlılar
Bizans’ın ittifakını temin etmeye çalışırlarken bazıları da iltica etmek maksadındadırlar. İstisna olarak dostluk ve iyi komşuluk
ilişkileri geliştirmek üzere görüşme yapmaya giden Osmanlı Hanedan mensupları da vardır. Hazırlayacağımız çalışmada
Osmanlı ve Bizans kaynaklarındaki verileri tespit ederek, Bizans’a giden Osmanlı Hanedan mensuplarının durumlarını
incelenecektir.
Members of the Ottoman Dynasty Who Visited to the Byzantine Empire
The Ottomans who came to the stage of history as a small principality in the frontiers of the Anatolian Seljukids
in which Byzantines called as Bithynia, had close relations with Byzantines juts in the very beginning of the foundation.
Founder of the Ottoman Dynasty and the State, Osman Gazi fought with some Byzantine landlords on the one hand, and
developed close relations with some others on the other hand. Many members of the Dynasty who were successors of Osman
Gazi stayed in touched with Byzantines. As a result of these connections, the Byzantines put up some members of the
Ottoman Dynasty in their capital, Constantinople. We show that Members of the Dynasty who visited to Byzantine Empire
had to reasons in their minds: Some tried to establish an ally with Byzantines while some aimed to defect there. There were
also some members, as an exception, visiting for establishing good neighborhood relations. In this regard, this study will
examine the motives and situations of members of the Dynasty who visited Byzantine Empire, by exploring the Byzantine
and Ottoman sources.
