Osmanlı Klasik Şiiri ve Gündelik Hayat İlişkisi Bağlamında Hayretî’nin Okçulukla İlgili Gazeli
Osmanlı insanının inançlarını, adetlerini, düşünüşünü, eğlencesini içeren gündelik hayat öğeleri tarihi metinlerin
dışında kendisine Osmanlı klasik şiirinde de yer bulur. Osmanlı klasik şiirinin önemli kaynaklarından olan gündelik
yaşam öğeleri, şiirlerde zaman zaman ulu orta sergilenirken zaman zaman ise mazmunlarla, ince hayallerle sanat imbiğinden
geçirilerek şiire malzeme konusu olur. Divan şairi bir yandan kullandığı söz sanatları, özgün söyleyişlerle meziyetlerini,
orijinalitesini “edebi kültür, edebiyat disiplini” bağlamında sergilemeye çalışırken bir yandan da bunları gerçekleştirirken
sırtını yasladığı ve hayal dünyasının dayanağını oluşturan gündelik hayat ve onun unsurlarını şiirine katıştırması bakımından
divan şiirini “Osmanlı sosyal ve kültür tarihi” ne yönelik kaynak konumuna getirir. Böylesi şairlerden olan Hayretî’nin
gündelik hayata ve toplumsal geleneklere dair çok sayıda kodu barındıran gazellerinden birinde, şair görünürde sevgilinin
keskin bakışlarından yaralanan bir aşığı anlatsa da şiirin derininde Osmanlı sporlarından okçuluğa dair çok şey söylenildiği
ve yüzeydeki sevgili-âşık ilişkisinin okçuluk geleneğine dayandırılarak oluşturulduğu ortaya çıkarılabilir. Hayretî’nin
özenli seçimiyle şiirde kullanılan deyimlerin, sözcüklerin her birinin aynı zamanda okçuluk terimi olması şiirin çok katmanlı
anlama ve girift yapıya sahip oluşuna yardım eder. Gündelik hayatı yansıtan Osmanlı klasik şiirinin bu yönüyle hem
edebi hem de tarihi değer taşıdığı tezini savunan bu yazıda bu savdan hareketle 16.yüzyıl şairi Hayretî’nin Osmanlı’daki
okçuluk geleneğine dair çok sayıda bilginin bulunduğu bir gazeli ele alınacak ve onun gazelindeki bilgilerin Osmanlı okçuluk
tarihine yönelik yazılan eserlerle uyumu gözler önüne serilmeye çalışılacaktır.

Hayretî’s Ghazel of Archery: In the Context of the Relation between Ottoman Classical Poetry
and Daily Life
A window into the Ottoman people’s daily life, namely their beliefs, their customs, their way of thinking and their
way of entertainment, can be found not only in historical texts but also in the Classical Ottoman Poetry. These elements of
their daily lives, which are one of the inspirations for the Classical Ottoman Poetry, are sometimes represented blatantly
and sometimes alluded at with intricately woven imagery. As the Divan poet tries to exhibit his talent and uniqueness in the
context of literary culture and literary discipline through original expressions and rhetoric, he inadvertently incorporates
the elements of daily life, which are the backbone of his imagination, and because of this Divan poetry becomes a source
for Ottoman social and cultural history. As one of such poets, Hayretî, has written numerous poems compromised of various
hints about daily life and cultural traditions. A ghazel, which on the surface is about a lover who is injured by the sharp
looks of his beloved, tells us a lot about archery in Ottoman times and it can be reckoned that the relationship between the
lover and the beloved is inspired from the Ottoman tradition of archery. The fact that Hayretî has carefully constructed this
poem with play on words by choosing words and idioms that also are archery terms contributes to this poem’s multi-layered
meaning and intricate structure. The current study claims that Ottoman poetry, which reflects the daily life, bears both literary
and historical value and to substantiate this claim, a poem of the 16 th century poet Hayretî that has a lot of information
about the Ottoman tradition of archery will be analyzed. In addition, the current study will show the harmony between the
information in Hayretî’s poetry and the works written about the history of Ottoman archery.
