Osmanlı-Türk Düşüncesinde Şiirden Romana Ahlâk Kurgusu
İslam düşüncesinin bir parçası ve süreci olarak Türk düşüncesi, Tanzimat döneminde klasik düşüncenin yanında
modern Batı düşüncesi ile teması neticesinde farklı bir mahiyet kazanmıştır. Türk romanının da ortaya çıktığı bu dönemde,
romana ahlâk nokta-i nazarından başat bir rol ve anlam yüklenmiştir. Edebiyat, modern dönem Osmanlı aydını için hem
geçmişin eleştirilip yargılanacağı hem de yeni dönemin meşruiyetinin sağlanacağı bir alan olarak belirmiştir. Ahlak ise bu
alanda belirleyici olan en temel unsurdur. Bu bakımdan geçmiş dönemde şiirle kaybedildiği düşünülen ahlak anlayışı yeni
dönemde roman ile kazanılmaya çalışılmıştır. Ahlakın ifade ettiği şey ise erdemlerden öte bütün bir medeniyet ve siyaset
algısı olarak ön plana çıkmıştır. Bu bakımdan roman bir kurtarıcı, düzenleyici ve ahlakı yeniden ifade edici bir araç olarak
kabul edilmiştir. Tanzimat aydınının şiir ve roman arasında gerçekleşen karmaşası geçmişten yeniye bir geçişi ve bunlar
arasında bir ayrımı ifade ederken; geçmişle olan bağların daha farklı bir şekilde yeniden tesis edilmesi anlamını da içerir.
Çalışmamız bu süreç ve yapıyı sistematik bir şekilde ahlâk felsefesi bağlamında ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır.
The Construction of Morality from Poem to Novel in the Ottoman-Turkish Thought
In the period of the Tanzimat, Turkish thought as a part and process of the Islamic thought obtained a different
character as a result of its interaction with the classical thought as well as modern thought. In this period when Turkish
fiction had also emerged, novel as a literature genre was given a leading role and crucial meaning in terms of morals. For
modern Ottoman intellectuals, literature was adopted as a field where they could on the one hand criticize and judge the
past, on the other extract legitimacy for their present actions. Thus, morality was a fundamental element in this field. With
regard to this, concept of morality that is considered to be lost because of the poem genre was sought to be regained by
the genre of novel. What morality represented in this context was far from being moral virtues, but a holistic perception
of politics and civilization. In this regard, novel was agreed to be an instrument as a savior, an arranger, and a redeclarator
of morality among the modern Ottoman intellectuals. The confusion of Tanzimat intellectuals between poem and novel
means crossing and diverging to the present from the past as well as reconstruction of the relations with the past from a
different perspective.
This presentation aims to reveal this historical process and structure systematically in terms of Islamic moral
philosophy.
