Section 1. Introduction
1.1. Safety Manual Purpose and Scope
1.1.1. The FedEx Contractor Safety Requirements identifies the
specific safety requirements for working within a FedEx
property.
1.2. Safety Policy
1.2.1. Contractor’s managers and supervisors are responsible for
preventing incidents or conditions that could lead to
incidents, injuries, illness, or fatalities. The ultimate success
of the safety program depends on the cooperation of every
employee. The contractor’s management must ensure that
safety rules and procedures are enforced and that effective
training and education programs are employed.
1.3. Goals and Objectives
1.3.1. The goals of the safety program are listed below:
a. eliminate accidents and work related illnesses at FedEx facilities
b. achieve zero fatalities, zero permanent disabling injuries, and zero lost
work day cases
c. eliminate Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
recordable injuries
d. eliminate releases to the environment and prevent environmental harm
1.3.2. The main objective of the safety program is to support and
assist contractors with their responsibility to control the
exposures and prevent the incidents that may cause injuries,
illness, fatalities, equipment damage, fire, and damage or
destruction of property at FedEx.
