1.7 JOB CONDITIONS
3. Fluids (including refrigerants) lost during the warranty period shall be replaced without
charge to the Owner.
A. Prior to bidding, make a detailed field inspection and become familiarized with the locations and
conditions affecting the work. Take field measurements, carefully inspect existing structure and
piping to determine exact field conditions, points of tie-ins, access to work, and possible
interference between existing work and the new work. Include in the bid items that are necessary
to complete the work as shown on the Drawings and described herein.
1.8 COMPLETENESS OF BIDS
A. Include items that are necessary to complete the work as shown on the Drawings and described
herein.
B. Bidders are also expected to confer with the Owner’s Representative, prior to bidding, if there are
any items shown on the plans or described herein that are not clearly understood. No allowance
will be made by the Owner or Engineer for lack of information on the part of the Contractor after
the bid is submitted and the Contract signed.
C. Interpretations, corrections, and changes of the contract documents will be made by Addendum or
otherwise in writing. Interpretations, corrections, and changes made in any other manner will not
be binding and shall not be considered.
1.9 SUBSTITUTION AND APPROVAL OF MATERIALS
A. The Drawings and Specifications were developed using the products of one manufacturer as the
BASIS OF DESIGN and for detailing. In the product description, this manufacturer is the FIRST
name listed. Other acceptable manufacturers having similar products may then be listed as
substitutions.
B. The products described in the Specifications are intended to establish the standard of quality that
the Engineer has determined as necessary for this project. Only products of the manufacturers
listed may be provided, except as indicated in Section 01600, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT.
Contractor shall assume responsibility for and include in bid all additional costs caused by
installation and dimensional changes that result from use of products other than those that served
as the BASIS OF DESIGN. This includes all changes to pumps, motors, wiring, controls, piping,
structural revisions, and coordination with other trades. All products shall meet space limitations.
1.10 CUTTING AND PATCHING
A. Cut and patch penetrations required by this Specification. Patching shall match adjoining surface
in both material and quality. Patching shall be done only by craftsmen skilled in the respective
trade. This includes patching of blacktopped areas. Sealing of all roof penetrations shall be under
another Contract or Division. Concrete slab shall be cut and patched under Division 3. Cutting of
concrete or masonry walls shall be core drilled to prevent spalling. All procedures shall be
carefully coordinated with Owner's Representative.
