2.9 FACTORY TESTS
A. Perform routine tests according to standards specified for components.
B. Conduct transformer tests according to IEEE C57.12.90 “Standard Test Code for Liquid-Immersed
Distribution, Power, and Regulating Transformers” . Perform the following factory-certified tests on each
secondary unit substation:
1. Resistance measurements of all windings on the rated voltage connection and on tap extreme
connections.
2. Ratios on the rated voltage connection and on tap extreme connections.
3. Polarity and phase relation on the rated voltage connection.
4. No-load loss at rated voltage on the rated voltage connection.
5. Exciting current at rated voltage on the rated voltage connection.
6. Impedance and load loss at rated current on the rated voltage connection and on tap extreme
connections.
7. Applied potential.
C. At a minimum, conduct the following factory tests on the 480/277V switchboard in accordance with ANSI
standards:
1. Overpotential test on each bus section
2. Insulation resistance tests
3. Control power wiring verification
4. Instrumentation wiring verification
5. Mechanical operation of all moving components
6. Electrical operation and sequential testing of all control and metering components, to verify all control
system component operation and configuration of all adjustable setpoints and parameters to default
operating conditions
2.10 SPARE PARTS
A. Furnish spare parts described below that match products installed and that are packaged with protective
covering for storage and identified with labels describing contents.
1. Fuses: Minimum of three for each type of fuse used
2. Indicator lamps: Minimum of ten for each type of lamp used
