2.1 PIPE
2.2 VALVES
A. Material for the Domestic Water piping shall be as follows. Products shall be as specified in
Section 15050, BASIC MATERIALS AND METHODS.

Hot water - above ground No. 1
Trap primer piping (from trap primer to floor drain) No. 13
A. Valves for use in the Domestic Water System shall be provided as shown on the Drawings and
shall be of the following types unless specifically noted otherwise. Products shall be as specified
in Section 15050, BASIC MATERIALS AND METHODS.

B. Ball valve BA-1 may be used in lieu of gate valve or globe valve at Contractor's option.
2.3 INSULATION
A. Refer to Section 15250, INSULATION (INSULATION SCHEDULE) for insulation requirements.
2.4 THERMAL EXPANSION TANK (Domestic Hot Water System)
A. The thermal expansion tank shall consist of a welded steel pressure vessel, separated into two
sections by a heavy-duty Butyl diaphragm. The water reservoir side shall be polypropylene lined
which shall be permanently sealed from the air side. Unit shall be NSF tested and approved.
Adjust air side pressure to match water system static pressure per manufacturer’s
recommendations.
B. The thermal expansion tank shall be ASME rated and have capacities as scheduled on the
Drawings. Unit shall be SERIES ST-C as manufactured by Amtrol or similar by State.
