PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 GENERAL
A. All equipment shall be UL listed and FM approved for its intended use.
2.2 PIPE AND FITTINGS
A. All fire protection piping, valves, fittings, installation, etc. shall conform to NFPA Chapter 13,
Underwriters' Laboratories, and the Owner's insuring company requirements. Pipe and fittings
shall be as follows:

B. All fire protection piping shall be UL listed and FM approved for its intended use.
C. Galvanized pipe shall be hot dip galvanized in accordance with ASTM A123.
D. Materials exposed to weathering shall be galvanized.
E. Provide flushing connection at the end of each main consisting of capped nipple 4" long.
2.3 WELD-O-LETS, THREAD-O-LETS
A. "Weld-O-Let," "Thread-O-Let," and other similar type fittings shall be the rounded entry type fittings
as manufactured by Bonney Forge.
2.4 PLAIN END FITTINGS
A. Fittings such as Victaulic "Hooker" and "FIT", products for hole cut pipe, plain end steel pipe
products, snap-let outlets, strapless outlets and other non-grooved products, etc. may be used.
2.5 GROOVED FITTINGS
A. Use “Zero-Flex” Style 07 rigid couplings with EPDM gaskets on wet pipe systems. Pipe ends,
fittings, and gaskets shall be prepared, cleaned, lubricated and installed in strict accordance to the
manufacturer's recommendations. Fittings and housings installed on galvanized piping shall also
be galvanized. Fittings shall be UL/FM approved for fire protection service.
B. All products (fittings, housings, gaskets, etc.) shall be of the same manufacturer.
C. Fittings, couplings, gaskets, etc. shall be as manufactured by the Victaulic Company of America.
2.6 PIPE SUPPORTS
A. Refer to Section 15050, BASIC MATERIALS AND METHODS.
