2.7 STRAINERS
A. Strainers shall conform to the Specifications for the services listed. Strainers shall be of a single
manufacturer if possible. Application of these strainers shall be as outlined in subsequent sections
of these Specifications.
B. Provide pipe nipple with globe valve (GL-1) or ball valve (BA-1) for blowing down of strainer
screen.
C. Pipeline strainers shall be Y-pattern type (unless otherwise noted) having monel screens with
perforations as follows:
Sizes 2 inch and under - 20 mesh
Sizes 2-1/2 inch to 3 inch - 3/64 inch
Sizes 4 inch and larger - 1/8 inch mesh
Strainer mesh for steam line strainers shall be 60/100
SIZE - 2 inch and smaller.
ST-1
PRESSURE - 125 psig W.S.P., 200 psig C.W.P.
CONNECTION - Threaded.
MATERIAL - Iron.
MISCELLANEOUS - Y-type.
