SECTION 15010 - GENERAL PROVISIONS - MECHANICAL
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SCOPE
A. The requirements of the Contract Forms, the Conditions of the Contract, and Division 1 shall apply
to this Section, except as herein modified.
B. This Division describes the Mechanical Work required for this project. The work shall be as
detailed on the Drawings and as herein specified, and as required by good installation practice to
make a complete and operational system.
C. This work shall generally consist of, but shall not be limited to, the furnishing, installing and
connecting of the systems or items delineated in the following Sections and Division 1:
Section 15010 General Provisions – Mechanical
Section 15012 Fed-Ex Facility EPN (Equipment Numbering) Numbering Standards
Section 15040 LEED Requirements and LEED Points Checklist
Section 15050 Basic Materials and Methods
Section 15250 Insulation
Section 15401 Domestic Water System
Section 15405 Soil and Waste System
Section 15407 Natural Gas System
Section 15412 Air Conditioning Condensate System
Section 15423 Pipe and Valve Identification
Section 15425 Piping Tests
Section 15450 Plumbing Fixtures and Trim
Section 15550 Fire Protection
Section 15733 Packaged Rooftop Air Conditioning Units
Section 15734 Packaged Rooftop Air Conditioning Units (15 tons and under)
Section 15800 Air Distribution
Section 15840 Air Terminal Units – Variable Volume
Section 15900 Direct Digital Control System
Section 15990 Air Testing and Balancing
D. Place equipment in initial operation, make required adjustments and balancing, make initial tests
to ensure compliance with Specifications and their intent, obtain approval in writing from governing
bodies having jurisdiction over this work to ensure compliance with all laws and ordinances in
effect.
E. The Drawings and Specifications are generally indicative of the work to be installed but do not
necessarily show every item or detail required for proper operation and service. No extras will be
allowed for items such as but not limited to offsets, fittings, supports, valves, thermometers and
gauges, etc. which are required for proper operation and maintenance, but which may not be
shown.
