SECTION 01040 – SUBMITTALS AND SHOP DRAWINGS
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SCHEDULE OF SUBMITTALS AND SHOP DRAWINGS
A. Within seven (7) calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed, the Contractor shall submit to the
Owner, in duplicate, a schedule listing all items that will be furnished to the Construction Manager for
review. For example, the schedule shall include, among other things, shop drawings and manufacturer's
literature, test procedures, test results, certificates of compliance, material samples, and special
guarantees.
1. The schedule shall indicate the type of item, contract requirement reference, the Contractor's
scheduled dates for submitting the above items and projected needs for approval answers and
procurement dates. In preparing the schedule, adequate time (10 days or more exclusive of time
for delivery) shall be allowed for review and approval and possible re-submittal.
2. Also, the scheduling shall be coordinated with the approved construction progress chart. The
Contractor shall revise and/or update the schedule as directed. Such revised schedules shall be
made available to the Owner for monitoring.
1.2 PROCEDURE FOR SUBMITTAL
A. The Contractor shall submit each shop drawing required by the specifications to the Construction
Manager who will route it to the Architect / Engineer for review.
B. Shop drawings or submittals submitted directly from subcontractors or materials suppliers will not be
accepted. Improperly submitted shop drawings or submittals will be returned unchecked.
C. Shop drawings will be returned to the Contractor with action and comments annotated. All submittals
shall be submitted in electronic format, without exception.
