B. Shop Drawings: Detail equipment assemblies and indicate dimensions, weights, loads, required
clearances, method of field assembly, components, wiring diagrams and location and size of each field
connection. Include complete schematics for metering and control circuits.
C. Manufacturer Seismic Qualification Certification: Submit certification that the substation will withstand
seismic forces. Include the following:
1. Basis for Certification: Indicate whether withstand certification is based on actual test of assembled
components or on calculation.
a. The term "withstand" means "the unit will remain in place without separation of any parts from the
device when subjected to the seismic forces specified and the unit will be fully operational after the
seismic event."
2. Dimensioned Outline Drawings of Equipment: Identify center of gravity and locate and describe
mounting and anchorage provisions.
3. Detailed description of equipment anchorage devices on which the certification is based and their
installation requirements.
D. Time-current coordination info and all associated info as needed for Electrical Protective Device
Coordination Study and the Arc Flash Hazard Study
1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Electrical Components, Devices, and Accessories: Listed and labeled as defined in NFPA 70 “National
Electrical Code”, Article 100, by a testing agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction, and marked
for intended use.
B. Comply with IEEE C2 “National Electrical Safety Code” and California Electrical Code.
1.5 PROJECT CONDITIONS
A. Environmental Conditions: Substation shall withstand the following environmental conditions without
mechanical or electrical damage or degradation of performance capability:
1. Ambient Temperature: 5 to 40 deg C.
2. Relative Humidity: 0 to 95 percent.
3. Altitude: Sea level.

A. Provide all equipment and component information as needed for the Electrical Protective Device
Coordination Study (refer to Division 16 Section 16031 “Electrical Protective Device Coordination Study”)
and the Arc Flash Hazard Study (refer to Division 16 Section 16032 “Arc Flash Hazard Study”).
