A dichas representaciones
Myers, 1984), categoría (Allport, 1967; Doise, Deschamps y Mugny,
1980; Cantor y Mischel, 1979), esquema (Taylor y Crocker, 1981; Fiske y
categorización, definen este concepto como "the process of ordering the environment in terms
of categories, i.e. through grouping persons objects and events as being similar or equivalent to
one another in their relevance to an individual's actions, intentions or attitudes" (Tajfel y
Forgas,1981: 113). Para una mayor información sobre las categorías, véase Allport, 1968;
Doise, Deschamps y Mugny, 1980; Forgas, 1981; Tajfel, 1984; Cantor y Mischel, 1979.
8 "...a schema is a cognitive structure that represents organized knowledge about a
given concept or type of stimulus. A schema contains both the attributes of the concept and the
relationships among the attributes" (Fiske y Taylor,1984: 140).
