• Go through each item and ask, “How are we doing on this one?”<br />

Use a scale from 1-10 to get a measurement. If someone gives it<br />

a 5, ask what it would need to get it a 6. Look for small wins.<br />

22. TEAM ASSESSMENT<br />

GOALS<br />

• To help your team become more cohesive and highperforming<br />

• To reach consensus on the key ingredients of a Star team<br />

• To assess your team on these key ingredients<br />

• To affirm your team strengths<br />

• To pick a few key areas to focus on for team improvement<br />

TIME FRAME: 2 hours<br />

MATERIALS NEEDED<br />

White board or fl ip chart and pens<br />

PROCEDURE<br />

• Have each person write his or her “top three ingredients for<br />

a high-performing team.”<br />

• Break up the team into groups of three and ask each<br />

group to “Come up <strong>with</strong> your top three ingredients for a<br />

high-performance team.” Have one person report for each<br />

team.<br />

• Go around to each group and hear one ingredient from each<br />

team until you have all the key ingredients. Write the ingredients<br />

on a fl ip chart.
