The successes Pete Carroll has had at USC are a great example<br />

of <strong>Emotional</strong> <strong>Intelligence</strong> in action. He stayed <strong>with</strong> his strengths<br />

and made only small micro-initiatives in his leadership that created<br />

a macro impact. It is a tribute to the competencies of knowing himself,<br />

motivating himself, developing empathy and strong bonds <strong>with</strong><br />

his players, and creating a strong vision of teamwork and leadership<br />

that the players, the university, and the USC community have all<br />

embraced and celebrated. Now he will use his EI skills to do the<br />

same <strong>with</strong> the Seattle Seahawks.<br />
