The adopted solution based on web services based integration
Just to prove the benefits of the proposed solution, we asked people from the IT department to test the EAI tool, in
confrontation with the open WS based solution. Besides being more than 10 times cheaper, the open solution was
accomplished in les than one third of the time required by the proprietary EAI solution.
Conclusion
We are surely living the edge of a new world of possibilities, with the advent of Service Oriented Architectures
that, in association with BPM and composite applications, may well change profoundly the way we do business
and the way government is practiced.
With these new technologies it will possible to leverage government processes, with much less costs, promoting
facilities for companies and the whole society, and unprecedented positive impacts on services.
New organizational models are possible, and even the government models will be affected by those new IT
platforms.
Traditional organizations and processes will give place to new models of relationships and integrated operations,
all of this made easier with services and process oriented architectures.
In our case, a very expensive tool (EAI) was aborted, reducing substantially the needed investments and making it
much easier to accomplish the integration challenge.
