On
29 April' 1963, the French formally informed
Vientiane that they immediately planned to withdraw
the rest of their liaison andvadvisory missions
from Seno. On 9 July, soldiers of the Royal
Laotian Army slipped through the gates and
occupied the base. After nearly one hundred and
five years, the French military was at, last completely
and irrevocably gone from Indochina.
