Dans ce papier, une méthode spectrale est appliquée à un problème gouverné par leséquations de Navier-Stokes couplées à celle de la chaleur pour un fluide visqueux incompressible ànombre de Prandtl fini, confiné dans un espace annulaire. La procédure de Collocation-Chebyshev estmise en oeuvre et mène à un système d’équations couplées du type Helmoltz. Le schéma de Crank-Nicolson est implémenté, et l’efficacité de la procédure de calcul est améliorée par diagonalisationdes opérateurs obtenus.ABSTRACT. Procédure spectrale avec diagonalisation 2191. IntroductionOn étudie un problème de convection naturelle thermique se développant dans un espaceannulaire horizontal compris entre deux cylindres coaxiaux différentiellement chauffés,de rayons interne r i et externe r e (figure 1). Le rapport de forme r er isera noté R. Cetespace est occupé par un milieu fluide newtonien de viscosité dynamique µ et de coefficientde dilatation thermique β. Les cylindres intérieur et extérieur sont maintenus auxtempératures constantes respectivement T i et T e avec T i > T e . On applique le schéma de Crank-Nicolsonet le système est ensuite traité dans la base des vecteurs propres. On revient enfin à l’espaceinitial.2.
