Toxicity. Chronic use of class 1 topical glucocorticoids
can cause skin atrophy, striae, telangiectasias, purpura,
and acneiform eruptions. Because perioral dermatitis
and rosacea can develop after the use of fluorinated
compounds on the face, they should not be used on this
site. Occlusion increases the risk of HPA suppression.
