Note: The length of lines (33 kV, 11 kV and LT) were reconciled in 2001-02.
Comparison of the network development before and after restructuring reveals
the following:
• The average annual growth of 33 kV lines after restructuring is low on
account of reconciling the figures in 2001-02 and also on account of the
length of lines required to be laid for the sub-station being short;
• The average annual growth of 11 kV lines in the post-reform scenario is
almost double the average growth before reforms;
• Average growth in the LT lines has increased compared to the pre-reform
period. It will come down in the future due to adoption of HVDS;
• The annual average rate of addition of 33 kV sub-stations has increased
from 85 to 142;
• There is fourfold increase in the annual average addition of distribution
transformers; and
