(b) Transmission System
The length of the transmission system (220 kV, 132 kV and 66 kV) is 4129 ckt
km. The transmission loss is about 9 per cent. The system does not have
sufficient capability to meet the entire demand of Assam. Vital strategic
transmission links need to be developed to enable the State to fully avail the
energy from the Central sector generation projects coming up in the region.
