Modifying Guides

Correcting Guides
If the function for creating a guide is still active you can correct all values
(position, radius, snap area) as follows:
1. Step backward through all values you have specified.
Repeatedly SHIFT-CTRL-click (Mac OS) or SHIFT-right-click (Windows)
until the parameter to be modified is selected. In the STATUS
window the selected parameter is displayed in boldface type.
2. Modify the selected parameter by doing one of the following:
• SHIFT-click on the layout, then move the mouse vertically. The
value corresponding to the current mouse position is indicated in
the status bar. Click to use this value.
• Or enter the value on the keyboard (direct input, see page 29-7).
The next parameter is then selected automatically and can be modified
in the same way.
Activating and Deactivating Guides
1. Click or select GUIDES | ACTIVATE. All guides appear on the
screen.
2. Use the MODE function to toggle between two settings, which are indicated
in the STATUS window:
• SELECT mode – Guides can be activated
• DESELECT mode – Guides can be deactivated
3. Take one of the following actions:
• Click on all guides you want to (de-)activate. Or move the cursor
slowly across a guide with the mouse button pressed down.
• SHIFT-click to reverse the mode, i.e. to deactivate in the SELECT
mode and to activate in the DESELECT mode.
• Repeatedly CTRL-click (Mac OS) or right-click (Windows) to
select the next guide. Additionally press the SHIFT key to select
the guides in reverse order. To (de-)activate multiple guides, click
the (left) mouse button before selecting the next/previous guide.
• Use the following functions in the MENU window to (de-)activate
the following types of guides:
ALL All guides on the layout
ALL VERTICAL All vertical guides and vertical lines of guide grids
ALL All horizontal guides and horizontal lines of guide
HORIZONTAL grids
