Using ICC Color Management
Note:
If an image is open, you can assign any ICC input profile you like
using the MODIFY ICC PROFILE function in the MENU window (see
page 30-11).
5. Under SOFTPROOF, specify how to display the color of images opened
in a window. The screen will be updated immediately.
Specify the rendering intent and enable one of the following options:
• NONE – Images displayed in original colors produced by the
scanner or digital camera
• LIKE OUTPUT – Images displayed as they would appear in print
• LIKE IMAGE PROFILE – Same result as with PRESERVE COLOR
NUMBERS in Adobe Photoshop
• SPECIAL – Images displayed in the color space of the profile
specified in the input box under this parameter
These options have no effect on images displayed on a layout. See
also On-Screen Representation of Layouts (page 30-1).
About Embedded Profiles
ORIS PDF Tuner supports embedded ICC profiles of TIFF, JPEG and
Image EPS files.
How to Embed Profiles
The ICC input profile currently assigned to an image can be stored (or
embedded) in the image file.
• To define that this is done automatically whenever you save an
image, select FILE | SYSTEM SETUP | ICC PROFILES to open the ICC
COLOR MANAGEMENT dialog and enable the SAVE CURRENT PROFILE
WITH IMAGE option.
• To embed ICC profiles individually, save an image using FILE | SAVE
AS, then enable the INCLUDE ICC PROFILE option.
This option is only available if ICC Color Management is enabled and
no profile is embedded in the image.
How to Reassign Embedded Profiles
To reassign an embedded profile to an image after choosing another
profile, enable the USE AS DEFAULT option in the MODIFY ICC PROFILE
dialog (see page 30-11) and set the profile selection method to AUTO-
MATIC/FIXED or AUTOMATIC/CHOOSE. Then close and reopen the image.
