The following conventions are used in this document:

Meaning
Dialogs, commands, parameters and other names
used in the ORIS PDF Tuner user interface
Characters to be entered by the user; sometimes
also used for emphasis or user interface elements
Emphasizes important words; cross-references
Files or directory names; examples of file contents,
naming conventions, code, etc.
The EXPORT function on the pull-down menu FILE
Press the SHIFT and F2 key at the same time.
Press the SHIFT key and the (left) mouse button at
the same time. Make sure SHIFT is already pressed
down when you press the mouse button.
A palette displaying information about the layout or
image and its current settings, usually displayed on
the left.
A toolbar with function names that change according
to the context, usually displayed on the right.
Command for Macintosh or Windows platform,
respectively.
Note:
All screenshots in this document are taken from the Windows version.
Mouse Buttons
On Windows systems you should use a two- or three-button mouse.
• Clicking means pressing the left mouse button.
• Right-clicking means pressing the right mouse button.
• Pressing the middle mouse button has the same effect as SHIFTclicking
(= left mouse button and SHIFT key pressed simultaneously).
Software Evaluation
ORIS PDF Tuner is protected by a dongle which checks the software licenses
you have acquired (see also page 32-17). For evaluation purposes
you can use the software without dongle for 30 days after installation.
The software is fully functional during this period (exception: no
LZW compression possible).
